Sec. 6. Israel, Greece, Cyprus, and the United States Interparliamentary Eastern Mediterranean Security Cooperation Group

There is established a group, to be known as the Israel, Greece, Cyprus, and the United States Interparliamentary Eastern Mediterranean Security Cooperation Group to serve as a security focused legislative subcomponent to the 3+1 interparliamentary group established in Section 1316 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. The group established under subsection
(a)shall include a group of not more than 6 Members of the United States Senate and 6 Members of the United States House of Representatives, who shall be appointed jointly by the majority leader and the minority leader of the Senate and the speaker and the minority leader of the House of Representatives, respectively. Membership shall include 2 Members of Congress who serve on an appropriate congressional committee. Not less frequently than twice each year, the United States Interparliamentary Eastern Mediterranean Security Cooperation Group shall meet with Israeli, Cypriot, and Greek parliamentary counterpart members to discuss issues on the agenda of the legislative branch of the Governments of Israel, Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, and the United States regarding counterterrorism and maritime security.
