Section 1421 of the BUILD Act of 2018 ( 22 U.S.C. 9621 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: The Chief Executive Officer may waive the requirements of subsection (a)(1) that a project supported by the Corporation occur in a less developed country and the requirements of section 1412(c) for a particular project if the President determines that such a waiver is in the vital national security interests of the United States. .
