Section 406(a) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 5172(a) ) is amended by adding at the end the following: The President shall collaborate with States and Indian tribal governments receiving a contribution under this section to ensure that, to the maximum extent practicable, repair, restoration, reconstruction, or replacement completed with that contribution substantially reduces the risk of, or increases resilience to, future damage, hardship, loss, or suffering. .
