Section 303(a) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 503(a) ), as amended by sections 103 and 203(a), is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: The regular cross-matching of claimants for unemployment compensation under the State law, or under Federal law administered by the State pursuant to an agreement, with the prisoner information maintained under sections 202(x) and 1611(e) by the Social Security Administration or such other repositories of information identifying individuals who are incarcerated as the Secretary of Labor may require, for purposes of assisting in the determination of eligibility, subject to appropriate safeguards determined by the disclosing agency to ensure such information is used only for authorized purposes. .
The amendment made by subsection
(a)shall apply to weeks of unemployment beginning on or after the earlier of— the date the State changes its statutes, regulations, or policies in order to comply with such amendment; or December 31, 2026.
