Sec. 1532. Reporting of incidents affecting the availability of the United States homeland missile defenses

The Secretary of Defense shall notify the appropriate members of Congress within 24 hours of any incident which affects the availability or impedes the function of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense System in such a way as to adversely affect the capability of the system to adequately respond to its operational mission as required by the Commander of United States Northern Command. For the purposes of this section, appropriate members of Congress means the chairs and ranking members of the congressional defense committees.
