Section 918(d) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 ( Public Law 118–31 ; 137 Stat. 370; 10 U.S.C. 301 note) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: The Comptroller General of the United States shall— conduct an independent assessment of the report submitted by the Secretary of Defense under paragraph (1); and not later than July 31, 2025, submit to the congressional defense committees the results of that assessment. .
