Section 1125(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 ( 10 U.S.C. 1580 note prec.) is amended by inserting , including to Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair positions after Base . At the end of each fiscal year, the Secretary of the Navy shall submit to the relevant congressional committees a report that includes the following elements: The number of Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair positions filled in comparison to the previous fiscal year.
The extent to which direct hire authority has affected recruitment and retention for Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair positions. Other data and information related to the hiring process for the Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair that the Secretary of the Navy considers appropriate. In this section, the term relevant congressional committees means— the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate; and the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability of the House of Representatives.
