The National Construction Safety Team Act is amended— in section 2 ( 15 U.S.C. 7301 )— in subsection (a)— in the first sentence, by striking buildings and inserting structure ; and by inserting after the first sentence the following new sentence: In instances in which the failure of the building or structure is the proper subject for investigation by another Federal agency, the Director shall defer to the authority of such agency. ; in subsection (b)— in paragraph (1), by striking buildings and inserting the built environment ; and in paragraph (2)— in subparagraph (A), by inserting or structure after building ; in subparagraph (C), by striking building standards, codes, and practices and inserting engineering standards, practices, and building codes ; and in subparagraph (D), by striking buildings and inserting the built environment ; and in subsection (c)(1)— in subparagraph (G), by inserting or structure after building ; and in subparagraph (J)— by inserting or structure after building ; and by inserting or the National Windstorm Impact Reduction Act of 2004 after 1977 ; in section 4 ( 15 U.S.C. 7303 )— by striking the term building each place it appears; and by inserting building or structure before failure each place it appears; in section 7 ( 15 U.S.C. 7306 ), by inserting or structure after building ; in section 8 ( 15 U.S.C. 7307 )— in paragraph (1), by inserting or structure after building ; in paragraph (3), by striking standards, codes, and practices and inserting engineering standards, practices, and building codes ; and in paragraph (4), by inserting and structure after building ; in section 9(2) ( 15 U.S.C. 7308(2) ), by striking building standards, codes, and practices each place it appears and inserting engineering standards, practices, and building codes ; and in section 14 ( 15 U.S.C. 7312 ), by striking building standards, codes, or practices and inserting engineering standards, practices, and building codes .
