Chapter 1 of title 36, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: May is Jewish American Heritage Month . The President is authorized and requested to issue annually a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe the month designated in subsection

For purposes of subsection (c), the term State means any of the several States, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. .
