Section 22A(b)(1) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Act ( 15 U.S.C. 278h–1(b)(1) ) is amended— by redesignating subparagraph
(I)as subparagraph (K); in subparagraph (H), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; and by inserting after subparagraph
(H)the following: best practices for detecting outputs generated by artificial intelligence systems, including content such as text, audio, images, and videos; methods to detect and understand anomalous behavior of artificial intelligence systems and safeguards to mitigate potentially adversarial or compromising anomalous behavior; and .
