Section 3502 of title 44, United States Code, is amended— in paragraph (22)— by inserting or data model after a data asset ; and by striking and at the end; in paragraph (23), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and by adding at the end the following: the term data model means a mathematical, economic, or statistical representation of a system or process used to assist in making calculations and predictions, including through the use of algorithms, computer programs, or artificial intelligence systems; and the term artificial intelligence system means an engineered system that— generates outputs, such as content, predictions, recommendations, or decisions for a given set of objectives; and is designed to operate with varying levels of adaptability and autonomy using machine and human-based inputs. .
