The Director of the National Institutes of Health (in this section referred to as the Director of NIH ) shall expand and coordinate programs for conducting and supporting evidence-based research with respect to causes of and current and novel treatment options and procedures for pregnancy loss. The Director of NIH, acting through the Director of the Office of Research on Women’s Health, shall carry out evidence-based research conducted pursuant to subsection (a), in coordination with the appropriate institutes, offices, and centers of the National Institutes of Health, including the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the Office on Women’s Health of the Department of Health and Human Services.
There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $45,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2023 through 2026.
