Section 402(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1612(b)(2)(A)(i) ) is amended — in subclause (IV), by striking or at the end; in subclause (V), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and by adding at the end the following: an alien is granted special immigrant status under section 101(a)(27)(J) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(27)(J) ); an alien under the age of 21 is granted status under section 101(a)(15)(U) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15(U)); or an alien is eligible for deferred action pursuant to the June 15, 2012, Department of Homeland Security Memorandum entitled Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion with Respect to Individuals Who Came to the United States as Children , or any successor policy. .
