Section 202 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 ( 52 U.S.C. 10502 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— in the matter preceding paragraph (1)— by striking the offices of President and Vice President and inserting Federal office ; and by striking presidential elections and inserting elections for Federal office ; in paragraph (1), by striking their President and Vice President and inserting Federal office ; in paragraph (5), by striking ; and and inserting , and in some cases, the twenty-sixth amendment, including the right to vote from a college domicile; and ; and in paragraph (6), by striking presidential elections and inserting elections for Federal office ; in subsection (b)— by striking voting for President and Vice President and inserting voting in elections for Federal office ; and by striking presidential elections and inserting elections for Federal office ; in subsection (c)— by striking election for President and Vice President and inserting election for Federal office ; and by striking electors for President and Vice President, or for President and Vice President, and inserting Federal office, each place the term appears; in subsection (d), by striking the choice of electors for President and Vice President or for President and Vice President and inserting Federal office ; in subsection (e)— by striking election for President and Vice President and inserting election for Federal office ; and by striking the choice of electors for President and Vice President, or for President and Vice President, and inserting Federal office ; and in subsection (f)— by striking election for President and Vice President and inserting election for Federal office ; and by striking for the choice of electors for President and Vice President, or for President and Vice President, and inserting for Federal office .
Section 202 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 ( 52 U.S.C. 10502 ) is further amended by adding at the end the following: Any person who is aggrieved by a violation of this section may commence a civil action in any appropriate district court of the United States for relief. The court, in an action under this section, shall allow the plaintiff, if the prevailing party, to recover from the defendant reasonable attorneys’ and expert witness fees and other costs of the action. .
