Section 7(a)(2) of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ( 52 U.S.C. 20506(a)(2) ) is amended— by striking and at the end of subparagraph (A); by striking the period at the end of subparagraph
(B)and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: all offices within public institutions of higher education, as defined in section 101 and section 102(c) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1001 ; 20 U.S.C. 1002(c) ), that provide assistance to students. . Section 4(b) of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ( 52 U.S.C. 20503(b) ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(1)and
(2)as subparagraphs
(A)and (B), respectively, and indenting appropriately; by striking and inserting States .—This Act States .— Except as provided in paragraph (2), this Act ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: Notwithstanding paragraph (1), in the case of a State described in paragraph (1)(B), subsection (a)(3)(B), section 7, and paragraphs (1)(C),
(5)and
(6)of section 8(a) shall apply, but only with respect to institutions described in section 7(a)(2)(C). .
