In this Act: The term Commonwealth government means the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (including any department, agency, or instrumentality of the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico). The term Elections Commission means the Puerto Rico State Commission on Elections. The term eligible voter means a bona fide resident of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico who is otherwise qualified to vote in a general election in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The term Governor means the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
The term immigration laws has the meaning given the term in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1101 ). The term initial plebiscite means the plebiscite required by section 101(a)(1). The term Legislative Assembly means the Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico. The term runoff plebiscite means the plebiscite required by section 101(a)(4). The term status option means an option described in section 101(a)(2).
