In this subtitle: The term covered establishment means— an official establishment (as defined in section 301.2 of title 9, Code of Federal Regulations (or successor regulations)) that is subject to inspection under the Federal Meat Inspection Act ( 21 U.S.C. 601 et seq. ); and an official establishment (as defined in section 381.1 of title 9, Code of Federal Regulations (or successor regulations)) that is subject to inspection under the Poultry Products Inspection Act ( 21 U.S.C. 451 et seq. ). The term employee has the meaning given the term in section 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 ( 29 U.S.C. 652 ).
