chapter 4 of title 5, United States Code In carrying out the duties specified in section 7, the Special Inspector General shall have the authorities provided under section 406 of title 5, United States Code, including the authorities under subsection
(e)of such section. The Special Inspector General— shall retain all of the duties, powers, and authorities provided to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction under section 1229 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 ( Public Law 110–181 ); and may utilize such powers and authorities as are, in the judgment of the Special Inspector General, necessary to carry out the duties under this Act. The Special Inspector General shall carry out the duties specified in section 7(a) in accordance with section 404(b)(1) of title 5, United States Code.
