Chapter 9 of title I of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 ( 22 U.S.C. 4081 et seq. ) is amended by adding at the end the following new section: A Department employee who is on leave to perform service in the uniformed services (as defined in section 4303(13) of title 38, United States Code) may receive an education allowance if the employee would, if not for such service, be eligible to receive the education allowance. . The table of contents in section 2 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 ( 22 U.S.C. 3901 note) is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 907 the following: Sec. 908. Education allowance .
