The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff shall enter into an agreement with a federally funded research and development center— to conduct a study on the future of the Integrated Tactical Warning Attack Assessment System (ITW/AA); and to submit to the Chairman a report on the findings of the center with respect to the study conducted under paragraph (1). The study conducted pursuant to an agreement under subsection
(a)shall cover the following: Future air and missile threats to the United States. The integration of multi-domain sensor data and their ground systems with the existing architecture of the Integrated Tactical Warning Attack Assessment System. The effect of the integration described in paragraph
(2)on the data reliability standards of the Integrated Tactical Warning Attack Assessment System. Future data visualization, conferencing, and decisionmaking capabilities of such system. Such other matters as the Chairman considers relevant to the study. Not later than 270 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Chairman shall submit to the congressional defense committees— the report submitted to the Chairman under subsection (a)(2); and the assessment of the Chairman with respect to the findings in such report and the recommendations of the Chairman with respect to modernizing the Integrated Tactical Warning Attack Assessment System.
