Sec. 1603. Department of the Air Force responsibility for space-based ground and airborne moving target indication

The Department of the Air Force shall be responsible for— serving as the final authority for the tasking of space-based ground and airborne moving target indication systems that— are primarily or fully funded by the Department of Defense; and provide near real-time, direct support to satisfy theater operations; and presenting such capability to the combatant commands to accomplish the warfighting missions of the combatant commands under the Unified Command Plan. Subject to section 4204 of title 10, United States Code, the Secretary of the Air Force, in consultation with the Director of National Intelligence, shall be the Milestone A approval (as defined in section 4211 of such title) decision authority for space-related acquisition programs for ground and airborne moving target indication collection assets described in subsection
(a)that are primarily or fully funded within the Military Intelligence Program.
