Section 202(c) of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 ( 43 U.S.C. 1712(c) ) is amended— in paragraph (8), by striking and at the end; by redesignating paragraph
(9)as paragraph (10); and by inserting after paragraph
(8)the following: review a mineral resource assessment applicable to the public lands covered by the land use plan that was completed during the 10-year period ending on the effective date of the land use plan; and in consultation with the Secretary of Energy and the Secretary of Defense, determine the significance of the minerals located within the public lands to energy security, national security, and economic security, in accordance with subparagraph (A); and .
