Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act— the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall, by rule, promulgate updated, generally applicable standards for protection of the general environment from offsite releases from radioactive material in repositories, including updates to the standards promulgated under section 121(a) of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 ( 42 U.S.C. 10141(a) ); and the Commission shall, by rule, promulgate updated criteria and requirements described in section 121(b) of that Act ( 42 U.S.C. 10141(b) ).
