The matter preceding the first proviso under the heading Federal Payment to the District of Columbia Public Defender Service in division B of Public Law 118–47 is amended by striking , for costs associated with relocation under a replacement lease for headquarters offices, field offices, and related facilities . Subject to paragraph (2), subsection
(a)shall become effective immediately upon enactment of this Act. If this Act is enacted after September 30, 2024, subsection
(a)shall be applied as if it were in effect on September 30, 2024. Notwithstanding section 101, the matter preceding the first proviso under the heading Federal Payment to the District of Columbia Public Defender Service in division B of Public Law 118–47 , as amended by subsection (a), shall be applied as if , of which $3,000,000 shall remain available until September 30, 2026 were struck.
