Sec. 4209. Protection of the HHS Offices of Minority Health

Pursuant to section 1707A of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 300u–6a ), the Offices of Minority Health established within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, are offices that, regardless of change in the structure of the Department of Health and Human Services, shall report to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. It is the sense of the Congress that the Offices of Minority Health referred to in subsection
(a)play a critical role in addressing health disparities and should be adequately funded and given a prominent role in evaluating and establishing health policies and programs.
