The Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq. ), as amended by section 4125, is amended by adding at the end the following: Not later than 1 year after the effective date of this section, and annually thereafter, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry of the Senate and the Committee on Agriculture of the House of Representatives a report on food security and diet quality in the United States. The report required to be submitted under subsection
(a)shall include— an analysis of the food security and diet quality of participants and nonparticipants in the supplemental nutrition assistance program; a summary of legislative and Executive branch changes made to the supplemental nutrition assistance program in the year covered by the report that are intended to improve food security and diet quality; and an analysis of the impact and effectiveness of those changes on food security and diet quality; and recommendations to the Congress on how to improve food security and diet quality for participants and nonparticipants in the supplemental nutrition assistance program. .
