Section 3 of the Sean and David Goldman International Child Abduction Prevention and Return Act of 2014 ( 22 U.S.C. 9101 ) is amended— in paragraph (3)— in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking and inserting abduction case means a abduction case means— a ; by striking
(A)has been reported and inserting the following: has been reported ; in clause
(i)(as so designated), by striking ; and at the end; by striking
(B)meets the criteria and inserting the following: meets the criteria ; in clause
(ii)(as so designated), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and by adding at the end the following: includes any case reported involving an application filed with the Central Authority of the United States or directly with the foreign central authority by a parent seeking rights of access or return.”; ; by amending paragraph
(7)to read as follows: The term ‘appropriate congressional committees’ means— the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Judiciary, and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Judiciary, and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate. ; and in paragraph (11), by striking “16” and inserting “18”.
