Sec. 347. Report on wildfire fighting capabilities of the Department of Defense in Hawaii

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to Congress a report that contains— an assessment of the wildfire fighting capabilities of the Department of Defense in Hawaii, including any shortfalls in firefighting equipment, facilities, training, plans, or personnel; a determination of the feasibility of establishing a wildfire training institute on O‘ahu; an identification of any additional authorities or resources required to integrate the capabilities of the Department of Defense with the capabilities of other Federal, State, and local emergency responders; and an identification of any memoranda or other agreements between the Department and State, local, Federal, or other disaster response organizations regarding wildland fire mitigation, prevention, response, and recovery.
