Not later than March 1, 2025, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretaries of the military departments, shall provide, to the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives, a briefing on the implementation of the recommendations in the report, dated April, 2024, of the Quality of Life Panel of such Committee. Such briefing shall include— updates to pay and compensation of members of the uniformed services, including— the basic allowance for housing under section 403 of title 37, United States Code; and implementation of any increase to the family separation allowance under section 427 of such title, as authorized by section 626 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 ( Public Law 118–31 ); improvements to child care accessibility and affordability; increased transparency on the condition and funding of unaccompanied and privatized family housing; improvements in access to health care; and expansion of support programs for military spouses.
