Section 1091 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 ( Public Law 117–81 ) is amended— in subsection (b)(3) by striking the authority to make such appointment or appointments shall expire, and the number of members of the Commission shall be reduced by the number equal to the number of appointments so not made and inserting such appointments shall nevertheless be considered valid ; in subsection (g)(1), by inserting and 6 months after 3 years ; and in subsection (r), by striking 18 months after the date on which it submits the final report required by subsection
(g)and inserting on December 31, 2026 .
