Section 1866F(b)(1) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395cc–6(b)(1) is amended by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: Improves outcomes for pregnant and postpartum individuals with opioid use disorder. . Section 1866F(e)(1) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395cc–6(e)(1) ) is amended— in subparagraph (A), by inserting pregnancy and postpartum services and after including ; and in subparagraph (B)— in clause (iii), by striking and ; in clause (iv), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new clause: pay a higher per applicable beneficiary per month care management fee for an applicable beneficiary who receives pregnancy or postpartum services from a participant. .
The amendments made by this section shall take effect on January 1, 2024, and shall apply to services furnished on or after that date.
