In carrying out the activities under this Act, the Secretary shall, to the maximum extent practicable, coordinate research, development, and demonstration activities among— relevant programs of the Department, including programs carried out by— the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy; the Office of Science; the Office of Electricity; the Office of Fossil Energy; the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response; the Advanced Research Projects Agency—Energy; the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations; and other offices as determined by the Secretary; and relevant technology research and development programs of other Federal agencies, including— the Department of Transportation; the National Institute of Standards & Technology; the National Science Foundation; the Department of Defense; and other Federal agencies as determined by the Secretary.
In carrying out this Act, the Secretary shall seek opportunities to leverage resources and support initiatives of Federal, State, and local governments in developing advanced vehicle technologies, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
