Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator, in coordination with the Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, shall initiate an assessment on the resiliency of airports in coastal or flood-prone areas of the United States. The assessment required under subsection
(a)shall— examine the impact of hazardous weather and other environmental factors that pose risks to airports in coastal or flood-prone areas; and identify and evaluate initiatives and best practices to prevent and mitigate the impacts of factors described in paragraph
(1)on airports in coastal or flood-prone areas. Upon completion of the assessment, the Administrator shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives a report on— the results of the assessment required under subsection (a); and recommendations for legislative or administrative action to improve the resiliency of airports in coastal or flood-prone areas in the United States.
