Sec. 217. Support for defense innovation activities of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

Subject to the availability of appropriations, the Secretary of Defense, acting through the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, is authorized to make funds available to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization for the joint fund established for the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic initiative (commonly known as DIANA ). Note later than six months after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every six months thereafter until the date specified in subsection (c), the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services and Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committees on Armed Services and Foreign Relations of the Senate a report on expenditures and activities related to carrying out the requirements of this section.
The authority under this section shall terminate on the date that is five years after the date of the enactment of this Act.
