Sec. 744. Clinical study on treatment of certain members with certain conditions using certain psychedelic substances

Not later than 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall carry out a clinical study in military treatment facilities on the treatment of members of the covered Armed Forces serving on active duty with a covered condition using covered psychedelic substances. Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Senate a report on the results of the clinical study.
The report shall include the following: The number of members of the covered Armed Forces who participated in the clinical study. The findings of such clinical study. In this section: The term covered Armed Force means the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Space Force. The term covered condition means any of the following: Post-traumatic stress. Traumatic brain injury. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy. The term covered psychedelic substances means any of the following: 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (commonly known as MDMA ).
Psilocybin. Ibogaine. 5–Methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (commonly known as DMT ).
