Sec. 1830. Report on efforts to dissuade allies from purchasing weapons from the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China

Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of Defense, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report that includes— a detailed description of efforts to dissuade allies from purchasing weapons from the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China; a list of allies that purchase at least 20 percent of their weaponry by monetary value from the Russian Federation or the People’s Republic of China; an evaluation of the security and political concerns with allies purchasing weaponry from the Russian Federation or the People’s Republic of China; and an evaluation of the impact that the Russia-Ukraine War has on allies purchasing weaponry from the Russia Federation.
The report required under subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form but may contain a classified annex. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; and the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives.
