Sec. 1535. Report on information operations capabilities of Russia

It is the sense of the Congress that the effectiveness of the information operations capabilities of Russia poses a threat not only to the operations of the United States, but to those of the allies and partners of the United States. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Director of National Intelligence, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report containing the following:
An assessment of the information operations capabilities of Russia, including attributable, non-attributable, and deliberately misleading sources in and related to Ukraine. An assessment of the efforts taken by the Secretary of Defense, and by the information operations components of the armed forces of partners and allies of the United States, to target and otherwise coordinate efforts against Russian military information operations. The report under subsection
(b)shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the congressional defense committees; the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives; and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate.
