Sec. 1073. Report on institutions of higher education that host Confucius Institutes

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report identifying each institution of higher education that— received funds from the Department of Defense in the period of one year preceding the date of the report; and hosted a Confucius Institute at the time such funds were received. In this section: The term Confucius Institute means a cultural institute directly or indirectly funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The term institution of higher education has the meaning given such term in section 102 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1002 ).
