Sec. 1017. Availability of funds for retirement or inactivation of landing dock ships and guided missile cruisers

None of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or otherwise made available for fiscal year 2024 for the Department of Defense may be obligated or expended to retire, prepare to retire, inactivate, or place in storage any of the following ships: USS Germantown (LSD-42). USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44). USS Tortuga (LSD-46). None of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or otherwise made available for fiscal year 2024 for the Department of Defense may be obligated or expended to retire, prepare to retire, inactivate, or place in storage— the USS Shiloh (CG-67); the USS Cowpens (CG-63); or more than three other guided missile cruisers.
