Section 575 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 ( Public Law 117–263 ; 20 U.S.C. 7703d ) is amended— in subsection (a)— by striking year, the local educational agency and all that follows through (as determined and inserting year, the local educational agency had (as determined ; by striking paragraph (2); by redesignating subparagraphs
(A)and
(B)as paragraphs
(1)and (2), respectively, and by moving such paragraphs, as so redesignated, two ems to the left; and in paragraph (2), as redesignated by subparagraph (C), by striking ; or and inserting a period; by striking subsection (h); and by redesignating subsections
(i)and
(j)as subsections
(h)and (i), respectively. Not later than March 1, 2024, the Director of the Department of Defense Education Activity shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on— any additional authorities that would be helpful to the Activity in its efforts to better support local educational agencies; and the amounts and types of any financial assistance provided to local educational agencies under section 575 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 ( Public Law 117–263 ; 20 U.S.C. 7703d ) as of the date of the briefing.
