Sec. 921. Modification of analysis required for reductions to civilian workforce under general policy for total force management

Section 129a(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: Such analysis shall be documented in writing. . Not later than March 1, 2024, the Comptroller General of the United States shall— conduct a review of any written analysis prepared by the Secretary of Defense relating to the reduction of the civilian workforce of the Department of Defense for purposes of section 129a(b) of title 10, United States Code (as amended by subsection (a)), and shall include as part of such review an assessment of whether the analysis prepared by the Secretary sufficiently addresses the readiness needs of the Department; and submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the results of such review.
