The Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall collaborate on a study on the barriers to mental health care for military pilots and aviators. The study shall include the development of a set of recommendations to ensure that pilots and aviators who need mental health care have— no more barriers to care; no more consequences for seeking care; and no less scientifically-robust bases for being treated and re-cleared for duty than pilots and aviators who need physical health care.
Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall jointly submit to Congress a report that contains the results of the study required under subsection (a).
