Sec. 270. Sense of Congress on the continuing need for innovation in the Armed Forces

It is the sense of Congress that Congress encourages the Armed Forces to continue innovating, including by using technological methods that incorporate artificial intelligence, quantum information science, advanced air mobility, and counter-UAS systems to ultimately maintain, bolster, and augment military readiness, wartime preparedness, and ensure the overall national security of the United States. In this section: The term advanced air mobility means a transportation system that transports people and property by air between two points in the United States using aircraft with advanced technologies, including electric aircraft or electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, in both controlled and uncontrolled airspace.
The term artificial intelligence has the meaning given such term in section 5002 of the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act of 2020 ( 15 U.S.C. 9401 ). The term counter-UAS system has the meaning given such term in section 44801(5) of title 49, United States Code. The term quantum information science has the meaning given such term in section 2 of the National Quantum Initiative Act ( 15 U.S.C. 8801 ).
