Sec. 1097. Oversight requirements for Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation Plan

Section 240b(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in paragraph (1)(A), by inserting , the Committee on Oversight and Accountability of the House of Representatives, and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate after congressional defense committees ; and in paragraph (2)— by amending the paragraph heading to read as follows: ; and Briefings by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: Not later than June 30, 2024, and annually thereafter, the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) shall provide to the Committee on Oversight and Accountability of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate a briefing on the status of the corrective action plan.
Such briefing shall include an assessment of the progress of the Secretary of Defense in achieving an unqualified audit opinion as described in subsection (a)(2)(iv) .
