Sec. 1066. Report on defense of Department of Defense facilities and forces in European and Indo-Pacific regions from missile and air attack

The Secretary of Defense shall conduct a study to determine whether the Department of Defense has sufficient forces, systems, and capabilities to defend Department of Defense military facilities and deployed forces in the European and Indo-Pacific regions from hypersonic-, ballistic-, cruise-missile and air attack, or to otherwise defeat such attacks. Not later than June 30, 2024, the Secretary shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the findings of the study required by subsection (a).
Such report shall include a specific and detailed plan for ensuring the ability of the Department of Defense to defend Department of Defense military facilities and deployed forces in the European and Indo-Pacific regions from hypersonic-, ballistic-, cruise-missile and air attack through 2030. The report required by this subsection shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex. Not later than 14 days after the date of the submission of the report required by paragraph (1), the Secretary shall make an unclassified summary of the report available to the public on an appropriate internet website of the Department of Defense.
