Sec. 2104. Federal coordination between Lifeline and SNAP verification

Notwithstanding section 11(x)(2)(c)(i) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2020(x)(2)(C)(i) ), not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Commission shall, in coordination with the Secretary of Agriculture, establish an automated connection, to the maximum extent practicable, between the National Lifeline Eligibility Verifier and the National Accuracy Clearinghouse established under section 11(x) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2020(x) ) for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, and each year thereafter, the Secretary of Agriculture, in consultation with the Commission, shall produce a report on enrollment in the Lifeline program by individuals participating in the supplemental nutrition assistance program established under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 20112 et seq.). Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Commission shall conduct a study and submit a report to the Congress on— the projected number of new broadband service consumers who adopted broadband service through a Federal assistance program; and data that illustrates the efficacy of various advertising efforts on eligibility for the Lifeline program.
