In this Act: The term allied country means— a country of the national technology and industrial base, as defined in section 4801 of title 10, United States Code; or another country that is an ally of the United States and is identified by the Secretary of Defense for purposes of this Act. The term appropriate committees of Congress means— the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate; and the Committee on Natural Resources, the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Committee on Financial Services of the House of Representatives.
The term critical mineral has the meaning given that term in section 7002(a) of the Energy Act of 2020 ( 30 U.S.C. 1606(a) ).
