Section 1902 of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1396a ) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: In the case of a State that conditions an individual's eligibility for medical assistance upon such individual's satisfaction of a requirement that the individual be employed, enrolled in school, participate in a work activity (as defined in section 407(d) or otherwise by the State), or participate in other community engagement activity, the State shall not apply such condition to an individual who is a member of a Federally recognized Indian tribe. .
