In this section: The term covered fee means a ski area permit or rental fee authorized under— section 701 of division I of the Omnibus Parks and Public Lands Management Act of 1996 ( 16 U.S.C. 497c ); section 7 of the Act of April 24, 1950 (64 Stat. 84, chapter 97; 16 U.S.C. 580d ); section 302 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 ( 43 U.S.C. 1732 ); or section 803(h) of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act ( 16 U.S.C. 6802(h) ). The term covered period means the period beginning on March 13, 2020, and ending on June 1, 2021. Notwithstanding the provisions of law described in subparagraphs
(A)through
(D)of subsection (a)(1), covered fees shall be temporarily waived and not required to be paid to the United States for the covered period, due to the COVID–19 pandemic, if the following conditions are met: The applicable permit or lease was issued before March 13, 2020. The applicable permit or lease is in effect on the date of enactment of this Act. The applicable permit or lease holder was in good standing as of March 13, 2020. Any covered fee paid to the United States during the covered period shall be reimbursed, as soon as practicable after the date of enactment of this Act, by the United States to the holder of the applicable permit or lease under which the covered fee was paid.
