The Commandant shall develop a 10-year strategy to enhance Coast Guard diversity through recruitment and accession— at educational institutions at the high school and higher education levels; and for the officer and enlisted ranks. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Commandant shall submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives a report on the strategy developed under subsection (a). The report required by paragraph
(1)shall include the following: A description of existing Coast Guard recruitment and accession programs at educational institutions at the high school and higher education levels. An explanation of the manner in which the strategy supports the Coast Guard’s overall diversity and inclusion action plan. A description of the manner in which existing programs and partnerships will be modified or expanded to enhance diversity in recruiting and accession at the high school and higher education levels.
